Estudo de descargas atmosféricas em modelo reduzido: caracterização do campo eletromagnético de canais artificiais

Lightning are natural phenomena of great occurrence and a major responsible for electric power supply interruptions. Considering the indirect lightning, those striking nearby aerial lines or electric systems, the radiated electromagnetic field causes overvoltages in the electric power supply systems, which can lead to interruptions. The study of the radiated fields from the lightning discharge channel, as well the induced voltages, are of great importance to better protect those systems against indirect lightning. This work contributes to a method for lightning studies: reduced model simulation. Electric and magnetic fields generated by artificial discharge channels used in reduced model simulation (conductor wire, resistive wire and spiral wire) were measured and analysed. For this task, appropriate sensors for field measurement were built and a calibration and validation methodology is presented. Field measurement below a reduced model horizontal transmission line were conducted to further complement the validation of the sensors and these measurement were compared with calculated values. The field generated by the three types of artificial channels were measured and compared to evaluate their spatial distribution, while analysing their validity for the purpose of lightning reduced model simulation.
