dc.description.abstractThe present study aimed to evaluate the influence of diets with different levels of cinnamon and two protein levels for juvenile of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). 360 juvenile of male tilapia were used, with initial weight of 59.56±22,71g. The design was completely randomized with 10 treatments and three replications. The treatments consisted of two protein levels 32 and 44% and five levels of Cinnamon powder, 0.0; 1.5; 2.0; 2.5 and 3.0%. The animals were fed for 60 days and after this period, analysis of glucose, total plasma protein (TPP), hematocrit (Hct) and performance indices were evaluated. For performance, it was not found statistical difference between protein levels and cinnamon powder. For the hematocrit, the animals that received the diet supplemented with the cinnamon levels had reduced values. While for glucose, animals that received the diet with 44% CP and the four cinnamon levels (1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0%) had their values increased when compared to animals receiving the control diet (0.0% of cinnamon). We conclude that for tilapia juveniles, the cinnamon levels do not affect animal performance, being recommended to use diets with 32% CP.
