In this paper I discuss the fact that two of the films of the Brazilian director Andrea Tonacci are displayed to viewers as raw footage. My
argument is that these two cases (the unfinished film The Arara, 1980—, and Collection Andrea Tonacci / Meetings in Indigenous America, 1978—) the non-editing option should be seen as a significant gesture of editing.
