This research analyzes the contribution of art as a form of expression, development of creativity and personal poetics in the education of children, as well as its contribution to the teaching-learning process. Art is recognized as essential for children's education, and it is up to the teacher to offer meaningful and consistent experiences, providing opportunities for exchanges of knowledge to produce art. There is a need for an educator who mediates knowledge, which favors free expression, emphasizing the interferences that happen in the school environment that hinder access to art, such as the environment, teaching resources and teacher training. This results in the need for an adequate and conducive space for cultural construction and production, which is stimulating and challenging, with sensitive educators who know and experience art and understand the importance of art teaching in the student's development. In conclusion,
this research presents suggestions to reflect on how to experience classes from poetic, sensitive and knowledge mediators teachers.
