Eficácia de exercícios de estabilização escapular em indivíduos com síndrome do impacto subacromial: uma revisão narrativa bibliográfica

Introduction: The close relation between alterations biomechanical scapular and dysfunctions of the Shoulder Complex leads to the emphasis on the restoration of scapular control in the rehabilitation processes of Individuals with Painful Shoulders. Objective: To review the literature through a narrative review of the effects of Scapular Stabilization Exercises in Individuals with Subacromial Impingement Syndrome (SIS), in a therapeutic attempt to regularize the Shoulder Complex. Materials and methods: Were selected random clinical trials published in the MEDLINE, PEDro, Cochrane Library, investigating the effect of scapular stabilization on Individuals with SIS, pain, function, range of motion and muscular strength of adult subjects, athletes, and non-athletes. Results: After selection, were found 349 articles, five of those articles corresponded to the eligibility criteria. The five studies analyzed the effects of scapular stabilization on individuals with SIS. The results of the studies included in this review suggest that a rehabilitation program based on Scapular Stabilization Exercises is effective in reducing pain, improving function, improving quality of life, restoration of ROM and muscular strength in individuals with SIS. Conclusion: A treatment approach focused on scapular stabilization has shown promises in clinical outcomes in individuals with SIS. The results of the studies included in this review suggest that a rehabilitation program based on Scapular Stabilization Exercises is effective in reducing pain, improving function, improving quality of life, restoring ADMs and muscle strength in individuals with SIS.
