Subsequently, a secondary search was conducted including experimental studies, pilot studies and systematic reviews to contribute with the review process Results: Initially, were found 105 articles selected by their titles. After abstracts reading, 28 articles were selected and 8 articles became relevant for the review. An independent reviewer analyzed these articles, according to selection criterias. Conclusion: The muscle strengthening not only of the knee joint musculature, but also of other muscles contributing to increase the pain, proved to be effective in pain reduction and physical function reestablishment.
