Introduction: the care provided by the health professional should offer the parturient
and those involved in the process the possibility of experiencing childbirth in a
positive way, always acting as facilitators in the development of this care. Therefore,
assistance in childbirth should be configured in the search for a more humane and
close relationship to the woman, allowing the woman to become aware of her rights
and to have control over her body, being able to manifest freely. An important
contribution in the assistance to the parturient is to provide conditions so that she can
be the pain during the process of parturition. This can be achieved through pain relief
with non-pharmacological resources. Objectives: Systematically introduce the use of
non-pharmacological methods, seeking maternal results from the use of these
methods to relieve pain during labor. Methods: This study to propose the
introduction of non - pharmacological methods of pain in labor in women admitted to
the Elpídio de Almeida Health Institute (ISEA), located in the city of Campina Grande
/ PB. Performing actions with the managers and multidisciplinary team that works
directly in the assistance. Techniques such as hot bath, massage, music therapy,
breathing techniques, freedom of position and Swiss ball during labor to promote
relaxation and comfort in the mother, to assist in the progression of the evolution of
labor and to reduce the need for analgesia. After the adequacy of the professionals in
the use of these techniques are being developed systematically, we will evaluate
them in the short, medium and long term, with the perspective of obtaining the best
feedback from the profe
