Muro à venda: a mercantilização do graffiti

Graffiti is an urban artistic representation, loaded with great symbolic significance and that has been absorbed by
commercial activity, raising debates in the class. Thus, this study aims to identify the marketing possibilities of graffiti
and discuss existing symbolic articulations, from the point of view of the graffiti makers. The methodological approach
was exploratory, qualitative, using semi structural interviews with graffiti makers. The data analysis allowed the
indication of the possibilities of entering the market (as a product of art) and the discussion about the removal of graffiti
from the street, revealing the need to rationalize the relationship between the artist and the work, without, however,
completely mischaracterize the artistic object.
