Resumen
It is an integrative literature review which analyzed research conducted in the public health sector. The aim is to review the literature on mental health care held in Basic Health Units (UBS) by the teams of the Family Health Strategy (ESF) in order to verify or identify the actions of professionals and the services available to people with psychiatric disorder. Were searched articles published between 2005 and 2015, in the databases SciELO, Lilacs, Medline and IBECS, finding eleven articles like final sample. They pointed out three main themes: the dominance of the biomedical model in health care and prejudice against persons with mental disorder; the matrix support services, the host service and the unpreparedness of health professionals; and the need to link the mental health actions in the psychosocial care network. We conclude that all identified difficulties will only be overcome through an enlarged view of the person with psychological distress and the establishment of a mental health network interconnected to the various sectors of health effectively.
