Resumen
The hospital admissions for ambulatory care-sensitive (CSAA) derive a set of conditions that, when properly treated by primary health care should not require hospitalization. This study aimed to describe the importance of the use of hospitalizations for ambulatory care sensitive conditions as an indicator of access and quality of primary care. The population was defined by the literature indexed in the national database (BIREME, SCIELO, CAPES, BDENF). From this search, we found 20 jobs. The sample was defined by the reading of them and their suitability for inclusion criteria: articles published in Portuguese in the period 2007 to 2010 and that addressed the theme, and selected nine articles. The results show that the authors are mostly nurses, working in teaching with titration master. The year with the publication of articles was higher in 2008, in the terms of Family Health, highlighting the research of qualitative nature. It was concluded that the CSAA nurture offer an expanded service and resolution in health, through the modification of care practices in the health services so that solutions are found for the wrongs that have affected communities, providing changes in health status of persons providing them comprehensive care and quality of life.
