Resumen
Systemic Arterial Hypertension is considered a chronic degenerative disease and represents a serious health problem, with a high incidence in adult individuals, leading to complications. Several comorbidities are related to this pathology, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and overweight. In the Basic Health Unit of Novo Santos Dumont, we identified, through the situational diagnosis, a high incidence of systemic arterial hypertension in the coverage area. This pathology represents a major obstacle in the community and is also related to factors conditioned by the disease: such as renal failure and increased cardiovascular risk. This study aimed to elaborate an intervention project to contribute to the reduction of the incidence of Systemic Arterial Hypertension in the area covered by the team. For the development of the intervention plan, the Situational Strategic Planning method was used, based on a review of the literature on Systemic Arterial Hypertension, in the Virtual Health Library, which facilitated the understanding about the disease and the importance of primary care in the control of it. Through the intervention proposal, it is expected to contribute to the reduction of the prevalence of Systemic Hypertension and its complications in the referred area, thus offering a better service for this population.
