Resumen
The peritoneal dialysis (PD) in chronic renal disease (CRD) in children is a difficult process. The aim of this study is to survey the caveats to apply PD in children and teenagers. The nursing team has difficulty to lead with DP and CRD, and new data are necessary. The key question is: what are the principal problems to the nursing team during capacitation of caregivers of children and teenagers with CRD and home DP? The method of this study is a qualitative research, using the metasyntesis, since the individual perception of the problem is subjective. Two articles were cited in this paper, and the principal results were that the life style changes in children and teenagers with CRD and PD led to unhappiness, irritability, anxiety and insecurity. These feelings are dependent of the patient life context. Difficulties in the treatmentadherence, knowledge of the disease process, limitation of freedom was also observed. In conclusion, its necessary to the nursing team to go ahead of technical problems, creating a good relationship with the patient and his family in homecare. Educative activities in PD should be part of treatment.
