Resumen
Barbey d’Aurevilly, a catholic, monarchist and aristocratic author of the 19th century, develops in his work a "poetics of transgression" that understands the model of the Byronic hero as the ideal character. The present work seeks, firstly, to analyse how such "poetics of transgression" finds its justifications in the historical and societal context in which it develops. Secondly, we seek to expose how such poetics dialogues with the new conceptions of Art elaborated by the romantic discussions of the beginning of the century. Finally, we seek to establish linking points between the Aurevilian and Byronic works, in order to understand how the English poet influenced the creation of female characters in the literature of Barbey d’Aurevilly.
