Resumen
This paper addresses how urban spaces have their traces defined by social positions produced by the unequal distribution structure of economic, social and symbolic resources. The definition of positions in society produce agglomeration of individuals stigmatized and disadvantaged in certain areas. This condition would influence the interactions and density of social relations and networks of the individuals. This influence contributes to shaping the norms, attitudes and behaviors of certain groups which would be more or less related to deviant or violent courses of actions that would lead to crime. Thus, this study intends to analyze the effect of neighborhoods, the levels of social isolation in rates and types of crime, mainly using confirmatory analysis of Structural Equation Modeling.
