The Reception and Risk Classification (A&CR) in obstetrics allows the organization of the
entrance doors of obstetric emergency services, guaranteeing quality access to women during
the puerperal pregnancy period. The intervention aimed at the implementation of actions that
enable qualified access and service with resolves to the women, in appropriate time for each
case. Objective: Elaboration and implementation of the use of educational folder for the
guidance of users and employees about the reception and risk classification in the maternity
Dona Evangelina Rosa. Contribute to the proper guidance to users on the importance of A&
CR. Methodology: Initially a meeting was held with A&CR nurses and the management of
the institution, and the proposal of the intervention project was presented. Next, the
preparation of the educational folder and new meeting was started for presentation and
adaptation of the folder upon suggestion of users and employees about A&CR. After the
adequacy of the folder was carried out verification of the host and Risk classification, as an
instrument to improve obstetric care for a month; followed by the creation of a banner with
the flow of A&CR. During the months of the second half of 2017, since in the implantation in
2012, the care nurses received training by SESAPI. The wheels of conversations carried out
with the nurses focused, evaluations of the educational folder, banner and the actions of
reception in the sector. Experience in this sector reveals that users have doubts as to the colors
of the classification and the flow in the service. Conclusion: The A&CR helps the health
professional to make decisions based on a qualified listening, associated to clinical judgment
based on a scientifically based protocol.
