Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by a lack or peripheral insulin resistance leading to hyperglycemia. Commonly found in the population are two types of DM, DM type 1 and DM type 2, both characterized by deficiency of insulin production by the pancreas, either absolute or relative. After diagnosis the treatment adopted will be multidisciplinary, addressing other conditions were present, such as systemic hypertension (SH), dyslipidemia, obesity, antithrombotic effect and drug treatment according to the cause of the disease. Complications can be divided into acute and chronic, are responsible for the loss of worker productivity. Poor adherence to treatment of diabetes mellitus is a recurring situation in many municipalities as in Piraúba. We observed a large proportion of patients with this pathology neglecting the disease, perhaps the delay of chronic symptoms in these patients lives. We want to intervene in adherence to treatment of diabetes mellitus in all patients in the unit, showing the need for a correct treatment that reflects the quality of life in the long term.The objective of this study is to intervene in adherence to treatment of diabetes mellitus in all patients in the unit, showing the need for a correct treatment that reflects the quality of life in the long term. Through the development of preventive actions with diabetes mellitus treated in the municipality of ESF1 Piraúba / MG, creating a group for discussion of the disease population, the group More Life, facing patients with diabetes mellitus where discussions will be held on disease, its consequences, the importance of diet, types of treatment and the importance of the evolution of the disease.We realize that the lack of a group of Diabetes Mellitus negatively affect adherence to treatment and its creation aimed to keep as close to the Health Unit and with more information about the disease so patient adherence to treatment will be more effective. With adequate glycemic control and consequently pathology decrease spending on health and early retirements.
