Resumen
The present study aimed to verify the contribution of two Betim AAL to reach thelevels of leisure time physical activities recommended by WHO for adults. For this, 61individuals of both genders, aged between 18 and 78 years, randomly selected fromtwo AALs from the city of Betim - MG participated in the study. For the datacollection, a closed questionnaire, approved by the COF UFMG under the number ofCAAE 43817515.1.0000.5149, was used, containing questions regarding the profileof the users, the AAL program and the use of these spaces. A simple descriptiveanalysis of the data reported in frequency was performed. Data were analyzed usingthe IBM SPSS estatistics 17® Software. The results indicate that there aredifferences in the number of practitioners between AAL and that the most relevantreason for adherence to the practice of physical activities is the improvement ofhealth. It was also observed that, in the present study, the majority of respondentsreached the levels of physical activity recommended by WHO. According to theresults found, it can be considered that, in the studied places, the AAL contributes ina relevant way to the health of the population through opportunism to practice regularphysical activities in the free time. Therefore, the expansion of the program can be animportant strategy in the fight against sedentary behavior and in improving the healthof the population
