A importância da implantação do rastreamento no cuidado com pé diabético na Atenção Primária a Saúde

Among the various chronic diseases, diabetes mellitus has been highlighted as a public health problem that merits considerable attention due to its complications, especially diabetic foot, a term used to name the various changes and complications occurring singly or together, in the feet and lower limbs of diabetics. Nowadays a global concern, is the immense human and financial being dependent and cost awareness are making necessary as the need for a good control of the disease and the implementation of relatively simple measures of preventive care, early diagnosis and treatment more resolute in the early stages of the disease. The deployment of tracking regard to diabetic foot in the Primary Health Care network can prevent possible complications, amputations, hospitalizations and deaths in diabetics with lower limb complications. The methodology used was a literature review, the following guiding tool, the published material on the subject; books, scientific articles and materials on the Internet available in the following databases: PubMed, DATA SUS SCIELO, MINISTRY OF HEALTH. We conclude that the study identified some of the evidence that lead to diabetic patients develop diabetic foot, such as lack of information, delayed diagnosis, prevention policies and specific vocational training deficiency beyond own lack of self-care of the patient. The outcome of the review confirmed the need to implement screening in primary healthcare with simple actions, involving educational and preventive measures in caring for Diabetic Foot
