Resumen
Sepsis is a public health problem whose mortality can reach up to 60%, according to data from low-income countries. Its incidence has increased in the last years and the mortality associated with it remains high, with great variability between countries and continents. One of the biggest problems with sepsis is late diagnosis. And the longer the diagnosis, greater are the chances that the condition will worsen and, consequently, greater is the risk of mortality. Given this context, it is very important that the health professional knows the signs and symptoms of sepsis for faster actions and it is expected that the goal of reducing the incidence of sepsis through earlier interventions will be achieved. The objective of this study is to identify the signs and symptoms of sepsis detected early by health professionals in order to prevent its complications. The research methodology used was an integrative review of the literature, in which the databases searched were Medline and Lilacs. The descriptors used were "signs and symptoms of sepsis" and "health professionals. The study had a sample of 43 articles and of these only 03 were part of the sample to meet the objective of the study. The study allowed to evaluate what signs and symptoms the health professional should recognize to offer theoretical elements for a better approach to the patient with sepsis.
