The aim of the present study was to describe and teach conditional relations between musical stimuli and emotional faces for children with cochlear implants. Fourteen children with cochlear implant aged between 6 and 11 years and with implant experience between 3 and 9 years participated in this procedure. The procedure was divided into four stages. Step 1 aimed to teach conditional relations between the phrases "Point to Happy" and "Point to Sad" and their respective emotional faces. Step 2 aimed to evaluate the initial repertoire of the participants, verifying if they were already able to conditionally relate musical stimuli of major and minor modes respectively to the representative faces of happiness and sadness. Step 3 aimed to teach conditional relationships between major and minor modes and their respective emotional faces. Step 4 aimed to verify the generalization of the training proposed for new musical stimuli. The results obtained indicate that the overall result of Step 4 was significantly higher than the overall result of Step 2 (Z = -2.207, p = 0.027). Despite this, the performance in Step 3 was close to the level of chance, which suggests the need to adopt other methodological strategies to facilitate the task in future procedures.
