Resumen
The cost analysis in healthcare practice has become a challenge to health professionals through the need to subsidize quality actions guided by the financial resources available. In this context, the development of pressure ulcers (PU) corroborates with high costs to health systems on his various levels of care. This study aimed identify the cost of treatment of UP according to the category and compare the real cost of your treatment with the values passed by the Single Health System and Health Supplements. Therefore, realized an integrative review with four search strategies through controlled descriptors in MEDLINE, IBECS, LILACS and Cochrane databases. The sample was composed of four articles published in the period 2010-2013. The daily costs 107-180 of Brazilian currency for UP Class I and III.; and 42-374 pounds, also UP for category I and III in normal healing. The cost increases when UP presents critical colonization or as a complication associated cellulitis and osteomyelitis. Comparing the cost of PU with the values supported by the Unified Health System (SUS) it was found that the transfer is insufficient to cover the cost of UP of any category. It was found that costs can exceed up to 1.073% the amount passed by SUS. So, it was concluded that there is need for further studies encompassing all the variables of cost, as well as the inclusion of physiological repercussions arising from the UP and the increase in hospitalization as a way to calculate the actual cost of UP. The professional awareness for adoption of preventive strategies led to PU is the main way aimed not to burden the system at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of health care.
