Revisão sobre a utilização de misturadores no processo de pelotização do minério de ferro

Abstract

The current study reviews initially the most common iron oxides presented in the Brazilian iron ores. It was also presented the main binders usually mixed with the iron ore to meet the physical and chemical qualities necessary for the production of iron ore pellets and the effect of the binders during the pelletizing endurating process.It was presented the most common types of mixers in the Brazilian pellet plants in and some of its main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Finally, it was evaluated the results obtained in comparative tests between the horizontal and vertical mixers.This analysis was not sufficient to accurately determine which equipment is the most adequate for the mixing and homogenization of the pellet binders. Much more detailed studies should be done for achieving this information.
