Resumen
The Family Health Program or FHP is known today as the Family Health Strategy and it aims to change the current health care model, in which the emergency care is prevailing, to a model where the focus is the family environment, allowing a broader understanding of the health / disease. It has as members of its healthcare team the Community Health Agents (CHA). The objective of this study was to investigate which preparation is attributed to the Community Health Agent to perform his duties, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of the information of the users. We used the method of literature review which consists in researching books and scientific articles according to the theme and the proposal designed to advance the research. The selected studies, totaling 33, pointed out that is the CHA responsibility to home visit the enrolled families, aiming to know the social situation of each and thus, according to their needs, offer some health action. He must have good relationship with the community and know how to work with the great diversity of situations and issues related to prejudice, confidentiality and professional ethics once he receives private information from the families and / or persons registered in his area. He needs to cultivate the confidence between him and the users, among others. It is considered that the continuing education and training courses for the CHA must address all these aspects as well as the cultural and religious factors that may influence the behavior of the individuals in relation to their health.
