Resumen
The Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a consequence of the result of alterations caused by Diabetes Mellitus (DM), product of the increase of serum glucose concentrations, with retinal damage due to accumulation of abnormal material in the blood vessels of the fund of the eye, that may cause clogging or weakening of these vessels, often leading to its rupture and retinal damage. Considers that the main microvascularcomplication related to (DM) is the most frequent cause of blindness in people aged between 20 and 74 years. In this sense, the objective of this work was to propose an intervention plan focused on the prevention and control of Diabetic Retinopathy among users of primary health care in the municipality of Serranos. The "critical nodes" involving the RD in the community studied are: the high index of sedentary lifestyle; inadequate dietary habits; low level of knowledge about the theme; structureof health services and team work process inappropriate. Data from the Department of Health, the Basic Health Unit, medical consultations, reception and laboratory exams were fundamental for confirmation of the fault. The operation will be carried out by means of educational actions, the planks of lectures, dynamic groups, home visits, individual guidelines and capabilities. The intervention plan focused on prevention of RD becomes a great challenge for us health professionals; however, we believe that the education in health involving the population and with the support of other segments of society, flags for changes in life style.
