Resumen
Walter Benjamin's text "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" focuses on the original work of art importance. Authenticity is absent in the most perfect technical reproductions: the unique existence at the place where it happens to be not happens in reproductions of artwork (here and now). Theories about place can be valid to study the human experience whit the original work of art. According to Yi-Fu Tuan, place as a geography analysis category may have the meaning of a material space’s portion which acquired importance to human being, by the way of an human experience into space. Experience related to artwork physical presence can create a sense of place — that's how I tried to understand the place in this research. The relationship between the triad works of art, human beings and space results in what I named in the research of "artwork place". Indeed, these elements relationship can be very broad, so I chose a clipping. I chose the clipping of visual arts which also have material assets and may have authenticity and meaning to heritage. Link the new generations from a relatively new capital, Belo Horizonte (late nineteenth century), to their ancestors’ artwork can undermine prejudices and create motivations for artistic heritage conservation. Research on student experience, relationship, and processes into "artworks’ place" can be useful to understand the significance and value of them. As a research space for this phenomenon I choose, the Museu Mineiro art exposition "Minas das Artes, Histórias Gerais" which shows a dialog between the facts and the arts in Minas Gerais state, between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries. The methodology was constructed in order to generate the theoretical bases, direct the research and provide a path to analise art education at Museu Mineiro and the constitution or removal of artwork places. The research found that artwork places can external links, as they can also be related to historical constitution processes. Such a finding does not diminish the observer's internal experience, as it is possible to perceive the external connections of the place and between the work and the user. Thus, Museu Mineiro artwork places can be very significant for the Arts teaching, in addition to having potential for the interdisciplinary discussion topics between the Arts, Arts History, History and Geography.
