This paper is a theoretical material, which is discussed and based on references. It is a proposal of an investigative didactic sequence about transgenics elaborated to students from the eighth grade of elementary schools. This work contains a guidebook to science teachers and another to the students. The science teachers guidebook is based on the curricular guidelines and explains how to apply the didactic sequence in classrooms. The students guidebook describes what they need to do throughout the classes. Later, it is analyzed which features ought to be present in the didactic sequence in order to have Science, Technology, and Society approach. Among these features are: be a relevant theme to Science, Technology, and Society, problematize it, raise hypothesis, learn new information, interpret the new information, and discuss the results. All these features are identified in this paper. Key words: didactic sequence, transgenics, investigative teaching approach, Science, Technology, and Science approach.
