This study focus on the various kinds of risks higher education students face along their undergraduate studies, which can prevent their completion. During the expansion of enrolments in higher education, some structural bottlenecks were eliminated of the educational system, granting access to new clients, usually non-traditional students coming from undereducated family contexts. Disadvantaged social position at the stratification system exerts strong constraints on individual intentions towards a higher education degree. From public officers and institutional managers points of view, any policy toward an increase in the proportion of the cohort of students in brazilian higher education should consider the determinants and the probabilities of educational trajectory interruption.
