Educação baseada em competências no processo de ensino da enfermagem brasileira: revisão integrativa da literatura.

This is a study whose aim sought to analyze the use of competency-based education in the
teaching-learning in nursing education in Brazil. Methodological strategy was to integrative
literature review, which is characterized as an exploratory descriptive study with quantitative
approach. The survey was conducted from the databases LILACS and BDENF considering
the descriptor competency-based education and nursing terms of competencies and
curriculum. A sample of 13 studies was selected from a population composed of 60
publications indexed in a period of five years. By analysis of data has become possible to
identify and discuss four themes: the assessment and competencies, curriculum and
competencies and skills training, and teaching-learning process and competencies. It was
found that nursing has been concerning to reflect about the subject and in several consulted
studies the authors emphasize the relevance of skills in academic, in order to the professional
with the knowledge and ability to perform a responsible, ethical, reflective and contextualized
practice in economic realities, social and political society where it entered. It was unanimous
among the authors found that the desire to formalize this paradigm as the guiding principle of
nursing education in Brazil.
