A importância da gestão do conhecimento e da informação no processo de design thinking

With technological advances, an organization needs to restructure itself to keep its
relevance in the global market. Customers nowadays have a wide range of information
that allows them to compare between competing companies' products and find the best
cost-benefit relation. To stay competitive, companies have to think beyond, hold expenses
and understand the customer. To stay competitive, companies have to innovate, think
differently, but how can they work the knowledge and information they already have and
better them? The present work approaches Information Management, Knowledge
Management and Design Thinking concepts, interrelating among them and showing it is
possible to create and aggregate new knowledge when applying Design Thinking
methodologies and its tools. Besides all this, this paper displays the importance of sharing
the knowledge of people from different areas in the organization, to generate new
knowledge and solutions, allowing the participants to have a bigger picture view of the
process and to share experience, turning implicit knowledge into explicit knowledge,
making a co-creating environment possible. This paper was created by reviewing
literature, searching for concepts and information that would allow for a qualitative view of
Design Thinking's benefits, along with Knowledge and Information Management, and
showing the importance of the human factor in the search of a new way of thinking and
creating solutions. The interrelation among several areas in an organization allows for the
knowledge and information exchange, which are essential for the creation of new
knowledge. Implicit and explicit knowledge management and information management
make solution creation possible, but when used with Design Thinking methodology, you
can search for innovative solutions, making people feel as they are part of the innovation
process and start to think their own workflows and actions differently, bringing innovation
and allowing the organization to stay competitive in a globalized market.
