Resumen
The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of different oral electrolyte solutions during patency of diarrhea in neonates calves. Two experiments were carried, the first evaluated and compared the use of oral fluid and different alkalizing agents in polionicsisotonic solutions, prevention and correction of electrolyte and acid-change base heifers during the first three days of patency of diarrhea. There were used 14 calves, divided in two groups: G1 (n = 6) and G2 (n = 8), from the first day of patency of diarrhea, fluid who underwent oral dose of 100 mL / kg / 24h ( divided twice daily). The G1 was hydrated with polionic isotonic solution with alkalizing agent bicarbonate, whereas G2 was hydrated with polionic isotonic solution with alkalizing agent acetate during the first two days of patency of diarrhea. The profile haemogasometric, electrolytic, biochemical and urinary pH and density were evaluated in the first, second and third day of the patency period of diarrhea. Both oral polionics isotonic solutions showed similar results, with no difference (p> 0.05) in the treatments administered. The results showed that the treatments administered at a dose of 100 mL / kg body weight, were effective in the correction of hydration during the trial period. On the first day of the period of patency of diarrhea was observed that the oral fluid in both treatments caused a iatrogenic metabolic alkalosis, however the second and third day with the same treatment, all animals showed mild metabolic acidosis diarrhea. The second experiment evaluated and compared the use of oral fluid in different protocols and composition solutions poliônicas, prevention and control of electrolyte changes and acid-base calves during the first five days of patency of diarrhea. There were used 18 calves, divided into three groups: GA (n = 6), GB (n = 6) and control group (n = 6), starting the first day of patency of diarrhea, fluid who underwent oral dose 100ml / kg / 24h (two four divided times a day). The animals of GA and GB were hydrated with isotonic polionic solution with alkalizing agent acetate, and the rabbits were hydrated polionic solution (UFMG) with double the amount of alkalizing agents (acetate and bicarbonate), during the first five days of patency diarrhea. The profile haemogasometric, electrolytic, biochemical and urinary pH and density were evaluated in the first five days of the patency period of diarrhea. Analysis of the results shows that the treatments administered at a dose of 100 mL / kg body weight, were effective in the correction of hydration during the trial period for all groups. On the first day of the period of patency of diarrhea was noted that the use of oral fluid in all treatments caused a iatrogenic metabolic alkalosis, however from the latter, even with administration of fluid, diarrheal all animals showed GA and GB metabolic acidosis. The animals hydrated with solution UFMG resulted in all animals caused by the fourth day, a mild-moderate iatrogenic alkalosis, and a solution polionic efficient in the prevention and correction of electrolyte disturbances and acid-base from diarrheal calves.
