Resumen
Zika is a disease whose primary route of transmission is the sting of the Aedes aegypti vector. However, its sexual transmission has recently been reported in the United States and several countries, including Brazil. Therefore, it is essential to improve citizens' knowledge regarding the promotion, prevention and treatment of the disease, especially the large contingency of high school students, at an age compatible with the initiation of sexual activity. In this context, to facilitate the mediation of the construction of this knowledge by students, it is necessary to seek pedagogical strategies that arouse the interest of students, in order to significantly and motivatingly promote the dissemination of this knowledge. Thus, this study aimed to produce and evaluate the effectiveness of interactive web-based animation as an educational strategy in the study of Zika as a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). In order to achieve the objectives and in line with the use of technology in education and the protagonism of students in teachinglearning, we sought to use a strategy in which students could participate in the stages of production of didactic material and interact with it through of an interactive animation using PowerPoint software. The study was developed proposing that as the student progressed in the production of animation, he could express his previous knowledge, work in groups, expose his creativity and demonstrate the knowledge acquired throughout the study, with a view to meaningful learning. with development of its protagonism. The study included 107 students from three classes, with approximately 36 students each. The work began in the 2nd year, in 2018, and finished in the 3rd year of High School, in 2019. To this end, a series of systematized activities in a Didactic Sequence (SD) were performed, along with a critical analysis on the use of Information and Communication Technologies - ICT. The methodology adopted was the action research with qualitative approach. For the data collection related to the students' previous knowledge, a diagnostic activity was used followed by a conversation wheel. To evaluate the student's perception was made the analysis of the illustrated stories produced by them, using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin, in addition to the notes of the researcher's observations throughout the process, compiled in a field notebook, and documented photographic records, as well as the application of a questionnaire at the end of the process. The data obtained in the study on the joint production of an interactive animation, made available via the Web, as an educational strategy, are satisfactory in order to enable the participating students to understand a recent, complex subject that is not yet known. contemplated in the textbooks. Most of the participating students were motivated to participate in the production and considered the efficient strategy as a resource for approaching Zika teaching as an STI.
