Fatores ligados à falta de adesão ou abandono do tratamento de pessoas com pé diabético: revisão integrativa

The diabetes mellitus is a serious disease that if not treated properly presents complications
such as ulceration and tissue destruction feet (diabetic foot), which can lead to some sort of
lower limb amputation. The aim of this study is to identify factors related to poor adherence
or abandonment of treatment for patients with diabetic foot. To this end, an integrative review
was carried out in which it took as a basis two articles: "Evaluation of the factors that
determine adherence to treatment of diabetic foot customer", by Melo et al. (2011), and
"Accession of people with diabetes mellitus self-care with their feet", by Neta et al. (2015). It
was concluded that it is essential that patients with diabetic foot is guided primarily by nurses
to develop skills for self-care, as well as changes habits and lifestyle, so that the factors that
affect negatively adherence to treatment, as no knowledge of the disease and understanding of
how to deal with the disease, are overcome and the foot of the patient diabetic pass to have a
recovery faster, maintaining wellbeing and quality of life.
