Resumen
The main objective of this research is to understand how changes resulting from the identity recognition, signed between community and state, are perceived by Quilombola teens and young adults who live in a rural community in the municipality of Santa Maria de Itabira / Minas Gerais. It was investigated how these changes interfere with their life projects and projects for their home community. In order to achieve theobjectives of this study, we conducted a qualitative research from a case study, with focal interviews, with the participatory technique called 'Dream Tree' and production of mental maps. By being interested in deepening the knowledge about the deployments of self-recognition in the Quilombola communities is that we used the framework of critical theory of recognition in three important authors, namely the philosophers Charles Taylor, Axel Honneth and political scientist Nancy Fraser. Among the conclusions we pointed out that there is a recognition that begins linked to the private sphere, but in continuous play in the public sphere, focusing on cultural identity and collective projects, geared to redistribution issues and political representation. In schools, young Quilombolas have the ambiguities of living an identity marked bymoments of invisibility, conflicts but also justifiable pride, at being worthy of the esteem of others; but only at certain times of the school curriculum. For the rest, it is worth noting that this research is a continuity and derives from work done in the years2010-2012.
