Vantagens e limitações da limpeza manual e automatizada dos produtos para à saúde: uma revisão integrativa

Manual and automated cleaning of surgical instruments, have advantages and limitations. Reports in the literature discuss that there are many adverse events that affect the quality of the cleaning, the human being the most mentioned factor. And cleanliness in the important stage of processing. Objective: identify the advantages and limitations of manual an automated cleaning of surgical instruments. Method: an integrative review, using database, CAPES, PUBMED, SCOPUS and Science Direct, from 2003 to 2013 an indexed descriptors in databases. Articles were selected for inclusion/exclusion predefined and subjected to content analysis as the proposed theme. Results: of 178 original articles found, 14 were included in the review. 21% of authors reported that manual cleaning done properly can be effective, 35% thought that automated cleaning is more reproductive and effective and 44% of papers analyzed, observed that the junction of the two methods is more efficient and provides greater reliability in processing of healthcare products. Conclusion: all publications mention the advantages and limitations in both manual and automated methods of cleaning, and the junction of the two proved to be more reliable and reproductive, and standardization and process validation are needed.
