Energy consumption in hospital buildings has several specific features, depending on the final energy use and the architectural program of its typology. This study presents the results of a hospital building envelope analysis by the RTQ-C prescriptive method, one of the first studies conducted in Brazil for labeling this building typology. It aimed to proceeds the prescriptive method of envelope classification of the Quality Technical Requirement for Commercial, Services and PublicBuildings (RTQ-C), this study also sought to propose adjustments when necessary, for better classification of the building. The hospital building study case was designed by the respected Brazilian architect Siegbert Zanettini: the Analia Franco Hospital in Sao Paulo, SP. This analysiswas performed by checking the attempting requirements of the roof and walls prerequisites and estimated the consumption rate of the building envelope, resulting in the envelope final standings. Therefore, the classification C was reviewed by analyzing possible alternatives in order to improve the initial classification obtained by the study.
