Resumen
During the care of cardiac arrest, in order to succeed it is necessary that the resuscitation maneuvers are properly and effectively performed by previously trained and qualified professionals in order to reduce the time that the patient remains with poor blood circulation. This study aims to identify the factors that affect the prognosis of patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the hospital environment. Therefore, it was based on evidence-based practice, with the purpose of doing a critical evaluation of the research results. The proposed methodology was the integrative review, which gets responses through the synthesis of previously published evidence. The sample of this review consisted of six articles identified by the search strategy in the databases of LILACS, MEDLINE and SciELO. The results indicated some factors that affect the survival of these patients, including age, gender, preexisting diseases, duration of care and identification of heartbeat. The main factors identified that increase the survival rate were duration of care, identification of heartbeat and preexisting heart diseases, when compared with other pathologies. Thus, identifying individuals at highest risk is a constant concern for health professionals. The care, which is essential to provide tools for nursing and for systematizing the assistance, is directly linked to the increased survival of these patients since the prognostic factors presented were simple measures of continuous observation of patients who are in the hospital environment.
