Resumen
Abstract:
The article analyses the presence of Apuleius in Martianus Capella (De Nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii). The various levels of the allusions to Apuleius in Martianus and their distribution in the De Nuptiis -which is different in the first two 'narrative' books and in the 'technical' last seven -are illustrated: the parallels can concern lexical and syntactical details, hut can also extend to whole scenes, or can involve philosophical and theological elements, as well as the preference accorded to the allegorical tales. The Apuleian work that is most used by Martianus is the Colden Ass, and in particular the tale of Cupid and Psyche, but also philosophical and technical works are employed.
