Resumen
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) represents a valuable tool for the systemic improvement of processes
since it helps in the identification and efficient use of restrictive resources and, therefore,
in the productivity increase of the global system. Due to its effective application in the production
field, TOC has widely demonstrated not only its strength, but also its use in the services area, particularly
in logistics and management operations. Nowadays, it is considered an important tool for
the continuous improvement which generates better results for organizations. This study tries to
obtain the maximum benefit in terms of operations planning and visitors flow. TOC, was applied
to Parque Explora, an interactive museum of science and technology, opened to the public at the
end of 2007 and will certainly become a supporting instrument for the application and dissemination
of science and technology in the city of Medellín.
