dc.description.abstractIn the search to optimize, monitor and manage the water supply process in urban areas, data derived from the Internet of Things (IoT) is positioned as a key tool. The processing and analysis of said data allows to know the water consumption patterns of the users, the demand curve in different temporal granularities and the typology of the users based on their consumption. This, in turn, supports decision-making and operational processes related to the detection of fraudulent connections, leaks, and dynamic pricing policies by consumption and user typology. This research presents the necessary guidelines for the management and analytics of data derived from IoT devices in urban water systems. The proposal is carried out in 3 databases. A special section is presented for the city of Bogotá (without IoT), analyzing its current situation with the 2 remaining databases (with IoT). The results obtained are decisive to promote the use of IoT in the city and thereby advance in a continuous improvement of urban water management in Bogotá.
