El presente trabajo de investigación expone los hallazgos principales de esta tesis de investigación que tuvo como objetivo analizar y comprender los patrones y el proceso migratorio llevado a cabo por el Pueblo Indígena Kichwa Otavalo a la ciudad de Bogotá; así mismo, investigar en la reconfiguración de su identidad cultural, como los cambios y elementos demográficos que estructuraron dicho proceso en la temporalidad de los años 1950 a 2017.
Se hace pertinente exponer una caracterización, paralelo generacional al momento de llegar y en el ahora en cuanto a las dinámicas de asentamiento, comerciales e identitarias influidas por el proceso de migración que vivió y vive el Pueblo Kichwa Otavalo de Bogotá, temática que nos adentrará en la importancia de esta investigación sociodemográfica.
Para efectos de esta investigación, la población Kichwa Otavalo radicada en la ciudad de Bogotá, fue escogida bajo una muestra no probabilística intencionada con la cual se pudo evidenciar, para esta población, los cambios identitarios al estar lejos de un territorio ajeno al propio; las dinámicas comerciales que llevaron a generar un proceso migratorio con características transnacionales; el por qué estos procesos llevaron a generar vicisitudes y fortalezas para el pueblo indígena Kichwa y su migración en Bogotá. This research work reviews the main findings on the basis of this research thesis, aimed to analyze and understand the patterns and the migration process carried out by the Kichwa Otavalo Indigenous People to the city of Bogotá; at the same time, the investigation about reconfigurated of their cultural identity, as the changes and demographic factors that structured this process during the years 1950 to 2017.
It´s becomes more relevant to present a characterization, generational parallel upon arrival and now in respect of settlement, commercial and identity dynamics influenced by the migration process lived and lived by the Kichwa Otavalo People of Bogotá, a theme that will allow us to know the importance of this sociodemographic research.
For the purposes of this investigation, the Kichwa Otavalo People based in the city of Bogotá, was chosen under an intentional non-probabilistic sample in which it can be evidence, for this population, the identity changes when being far from a territory outside its own; the commercial dynamics that led to generate a migratory process with transnational characteristics; why these processes led to generate vicissitudes and strengths for the Kichwa Otavalo People as well as the understanding of their mobility within the city of Bogotá.
