Efecto de la administración de dexametasona sobre la glicemia en pacientes diabéticos llevados a cirugía

Resumen
En este trabajo se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, exploratorio y ambilectivo en la población de 60 pacientes diabéticos llevados a cirugía programada en el Hospital universitario Clínica San Rafael, con un control glicémico adecuado y según las técnicas utilizadas habitualmente por el grupo de anestesiólogos. Determinando si la administración de una dosis de dexametasona de 4 mg que es tan efectiva para la profilaxis de NVPO como una dosis de 8 mg, tenia un efecto hiperglicemiante menor. Las variables cualitativas se resumieron con proporciones. Las variables cuantitativas se resumieron con medias o medianas según los resultados de la prueba de normalidad. Se utilizó la prueba de Shapiro Wilk y métodos gráficos para su evaluación. Las proporciones se compararon con la prueba de Ji-cuadrado. Las variables cuantitativas se compararon con pruebas de t-student de medias independientes al evaluar datos intragrupales y de datos pareados cuando se compararon diferentes mediciones del mismo paciente. Se utilizaron pruebas no paramétricas para los datos pareados y no pareados cuando la distribución de los datos no fue normal.
