El Estado Islámico, más que una organización terrorista común

Resumen
La historia del Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante (EEIL), en el difícil panorama sirio, es relativamente corta. Lo primero que se debe comprender es que esta no es una nueva organización, sino que subsumió otros grupos armados que lo precedieron bajo otras denominaciones y adquirió un nuevo nombre, recogiendo sentimientos que crearon «los cimientos para el sectarismo y rivalidades en que prosperan grupos como ISIS [sic]» (Sharp, 2015, p. 05). En tal sentido, se pretende examinar tangencialmente la estructura política-social, administrativa y militar de este proyecto de construcción del Estado Islámico (EI), destacando cuáles han sido las líneas generales más trascendentes del fenómeno y cuál es su viabilidad a largo plazo.
