Hoy en día la construcción sostenible tiene un papel importante a nivel mundial, ya que se busca mitigar los impactos ambientales que los proyectos de construcción generan durante su ejecución, es por esta razón que se han creado las certificaciones ambientales, las cuales se utilizan como herramienta para reducir el uso excesivo de los recursos naturales a través de programas que permiten establecer criterios que promuevan un consumo racional de agua y energía durante el ciclo de vida de la edificación. Es por esta razón que en este documento se lleva a cabo una revisión a referencias bibliográficas sobre los entes que desarrollan estas certificaciones, se recopila información sobre los parámetros que cada certificación utiliza para gestionar el proceso de certificación para la construcción sostenible y se implementa un cuadro comparativo objetivo, en el cual se analizara las ventajas y diferencias de cada certificación y como estas aplicarían en la construcción sostenible colombiana revisando que cumplan la normativa ambiental vigente en Colombia.
