La precipitación máxima es una de las causas de la ocurrencia de los mayores valores de escorrentía superficial. En este trabajo, se analizó para los años 2010 y 2011 el comportamiento de los valores de precipitación máxima en 24 horas ocurrida en forma simultánea para el área comprendida en el casco urbano de la ciudad de Bogotá. Temporalmente, se identificó un comportamiento de alta precipitación en los periodos que convencionalmente se reconocen como aquellos de mayor pluviosidad con la connotación de haber sido periodos húmedos que históricamente suceden en forma interanual. Sobre la distribución espacial, no se pudo obtener evidencia de un patrón de distribución, dando lugar a recomendar a que en este tipo de análisis se considere también la influencia de variables de tipo climatológico.
