La auscultación del sonido respiratorio es una parte fundamental de la práctica diaria para la mayoría de los médicos, y de esta depende el diagnóstico inicial de diversas patologías del sistema respiratorio humano.
Lo anterior motiva para el aporte y desarrollo de una nueva tecnología, que sirva como complemento a la forma de diagnóstico de las enfermedades respiratorias por una técnica de carácter no invasivo como lo es la auscultación pulmonar con el estetoscopio.
Este trabajo de grado está enmarcado en la línea de investigación de procesamiento digital de señales biomédicas, para diseñar y simular una herramienta que facilite el diagnóstico médico con el propósito de realizar un análisis posterior. A partir de esto, se logró el diseño de un sistema de instrumentación necesario para estudiar los sonidos respiratorios, capaz de visualizar, almacenar y reproducir la señal acústica pulmonar.
El diseño de este sistema permite realizar un seguimiento del comportamiento de la señal respiratoria, ya que la información es almacenada y puede ser posteriormente reproducida y visualizada. Para el desarrollo de este trabajo se utilizaron herramientas virtuales de simulación para la comprobación del mismo como lo son Multisim® y Labview®.
