A diagnosis was made about production of hazardous waste of 22 hog farms of the Cundinamarca and Boyacá department. These hog farms have a process in implementation best practices with the objective to be certified in the norm or resolution ICA 2640. It was found that exist difference in the generation of hazardous waste where the key variables are: production system, laboratory in the farm and number of the animals of the production system. It was evident in this job that the waste generated in the farm are: biohazardous, sharp and chemical waste.
Generation of the anatomical waste product of the mortality of the animals and the some interventions in the farm, for this case the farms have implemented procedures for the management of the hazardous waste like decomposition mass and the composting which are approved for the environmental authorities.
Farms have laboratory independent of the production system generate more hazardous waste per animal, also it was evident that the farms with breeding and prefeeds in their system are generating more waste per animal.
