Resumen
The main objective of this research is to analyze the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the digitalization of Colombian foreign policy in Brazil. The approach used is the historical hermeneutic based on a case study of the Embassy of Colombia in Brazil and a theoretical basis that includes the origin and evolution of Colombian foreign policy; as well as the way in which it has operated since said figure was established in the country, which presented an important change since the pandemic began, accelerating the need to transform traditional diplomacy into digital diplomacy, a concept that was given to know in the middle of the 20th century but that had a true meaning until the year 2020.
For the diplomatic mission of Colombia in Brazil, COVID-19 required adapting in a timely manner to the new working conditions, involving developing different strategies and making use of technological tools that would allow each of the functions to be carried out with the same degree of care. effectiveness. Consequently, it was concluded that digital technologies represent a great challenge for diplomacy but at the same time create great opportunities at lower costs and with a greater scope through the hybridization of work, better training of diplomats for the use of technological tools and a better adaptation of the work environment.
