The execution of this research is the starting point of an inter-institutional macro project "Nanostructured additive to reduce the H2S content in biogas produced by anaerobic digestion", of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering within the Environmental Management Research Group USTA Villavicencio - GAUV, with the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, GNano Research Group. In particular, the influence of the constitution of different substrates in the generation of (H2S) in the anaerobic digestion process will be determined at an experimental level on a laboratory scale, in which the physicochemical characterization of the substrates used in the region that will be used will be carried out. norm are agricultural residues, which represent a great potential for growth of this technology. An experimental design will be formulated for the comparative evaluation in the generation of this by-product and finally, an analysis of the production and concentration of hydrogen sulfide based on the substrates studied. Among the reasons to consider the elimination of hydrogen sulfide, is to guarantee a safe operation by avoiding risks of poisoning in personnel and corrosion of equipment, secondly to be able to increase the calorific value in order to replace other sources of combustion, and thirdly to be able to use this gas increasing its ideal methane efficiency to the maximum, equivalent to natural gas.
