Resumen
Objetive: Implement a program to promote oral health for primary teacher’s basic of Holland College and its headquarters Piedecuesta. Methods: was performed A community trial (EC) in which the effectiveness of two different educational strategies were compared in two groups of teachers assigned randomly to groups involved with strategy
A (Talk with educational material) and control group with strategy
B(chat only) (40). The Universe and the sample were composed of 23 teachers from Holland College and its offices in rural areas.
Was performed 5 Similar pilot test people in their sociodemographic environment that didn´t participate in the intervention. Statistical tests and chi2 test or Fisher exact test for qualitative variables and quantitative variables, the Student t test or Wilcoxon Rank test, depending on the distribution of the data were applied were applied. Was considered for bivariate analyzes a significance level of p ≤ 0.05. Results: For none of these variables related to knowledge about oral health statistically significant either before or after surgery associations were observed. Conclusions: It is important to implement educational strategies for impact on the oral health of school children in rural areas, having as allying teachers, family and dentists.
