Resumen
Unemployment in Colombia has generated an increase in informal work, which leads to different problems such as the invasion of public space, the precariousness of people's work, poverty and disproportionate competition for formalized vendors, among others.
For this reason, this work seeks to analyze the governmental management of street vendors in the historic center of Tunja and to propose different possibilities for them to improve their basic conditions, as follows: first, a conceptualization of the most important issues to understand the general dynamics of street vendors in the country is made, then the different actions that have been executed by the Tunja mayor's office regarding the issue of street vendors and the interaction with the public space in the historic center of the city of Tunja are analyzed, then 43 surveys are conducted in order to identify the perception that vendors have about the actions mentioned above and finally, an analysis is made and a line of discussion is created about what has been done by the mayor's office and the perception that street vendors have about the actions taken and the effect it has on their lifestyle. It should be clarified that the research is exclusively focused on the community of the Tunja region due to the availability of data.
